Unitree AlienGo Review Summary
The AlienGo is one of Unitree's older platforms and is still listed in its industrial range. Its strength is openness: Ubuntu for motion control, ROS for perception, several power outputs and data ports, and a 13 kg payload on a 21.5 kg body. Endurance of 2.5 to 4.6 hours is good. Its limits show its age: walking speed is given as more than 1.5 m/s, the climbing angle is 25 degrees, and newer models such as the As2 and A2 exceed it in torque and speed.
Pros
Open Ubuntu and ROS software
13 kg payload
Up to 4.6 hours of endurance
Built-in depth and odometry cameras
Several power outputs
Cons
Older design
25-degree climbing limit
No protection rating stated
Who It Is For
It fits universities and laboratories that want a mid-size open quadruped; buyers who want performance should compare the newer A2 and As2.
