LMI Gocator 6300 Review Summary
The 6300 series is the highest-resolution laser profiler in the Gocator family. With more than 6500 points across a line of 14 or 31 mm, the spacing between points falls to about 2 µm, a level that used to require confocal sensors weighing ten times as much. The sensor weighs 1.7 kg. Speed at full frame is more than 1700 Hz, well below the 2500 series, so the choice between the two is resolution against speed. Only two models are offered, both with small fields of view.
Pros
More than 6500 points per profile
Point spacing down to about 2 µm
Sub-micron repeatability
Light at 1.7 kg
Measurement inside the sensor
Cons
Fields of view of 14.5 or 31 mm only
Slower than the 2500 series
Who It Is For
The series fits electronics manufacturers who need the finest lateral detail from a laser profiler on small parts.
