ATI Industrial Automation QC-5 Overview
Discontinued model: no longer part of the current ATI product range. The ATI QC-5 is a pneumatic robotic tool changer with a suggested payload limit of 8.2 kg (18 lb) and static moment capacities of 12.4 Nm in X/Y and 16.9 Nm in Z. It is designed for automatic exchange of light end-of-arm tools on small robots, using a fail-safe locking mechanism that develops 710 N of locking force at 5.5 bar. The master plate weighs 0.27 kg and the tool plate 0.09 kg, and the coupling repeats to within 0.0102 mm. Six M5 or #10-32 pneumatic ports pass through the changer. Its successor is the QC-7, which adds integrated lock and unlock sensing.
