Harmonic Drive FHA-C Review Summary
A robot joint needs high torque from a small, light package with no backlash, and room to pass cables through the middle. The FHA-C is built for exactly that. It is very short along its axis, has a through hole, and delivers 39 to 820 Nm at peak. The FHA-Mini covers 1.8 to 28 Nm for small axes. An IP65 version, the FHA-C H, comes in four sizes. Output speeds are low, 22 to 96 rpm on the FHA-C, as with all high-ratio strain wave drives.
Pros
Very flat with hollow shaft
1.8 to 820 Nm across the two series
Strain wave precision
IP65 version available
Cons
Low output speed
Per-size data only in datasheets
Who It Is For
It fits designers of robots and precision machines who need a compact, backlash-free rotary axis with a through hole.
