Formation and Ownership

Hanwha's board approved the separation in mid-August 2023 and the new company was inaugurated on October 4 of that year. The robot business came out of Hanwha Momentum, which after the split concentrates on equipment for rechargeable batteries, renewable energy and displays. Hanwha Corporation invested KRW 42.4 billion for a 68% stake, and Hanwha Hotels & Resorts holds the remaining 32%.
The hotel company's stake reflects the plan: besides factories, Hanwha wants to use robots in its own hospitality and food businesses.
Products and Markets
Collaborative robots: the company's main line, sold worldwide; North America and Europe account for more than 60% of cobot sales.
Service robots: food technology and cooking robots, security robots and automated building management.
Mobile robots: machines based on automated guided vehicle and autonomous mobile robot technology.
At launch the company said it would raise its share of the cobot market, expand abroad through the group's more than 30 overseas bases, widen its line-up and keep investing in software.
