safePGV achieves safety-rated absolute positioning with a single sensor, which normally takes two independent systems. The camera reads two-colour Data Matrix code tape lit alternately by red and blue LEDs, and the firmware checks the X position for plausibility. It is certified to SIL 3 and PL e Category 4 by TÜV Rheinland, reports over PROFIsafe, and works at up to 8 m/s over tracks as long as 100 km, with ±0.2 mm non-safety accuracy. The 200 g, 70 mm cube is IP67 with no wearing parts. Reaction time for safety functions is 165 ms. No price is listed.
