Banner S4B Safety Light Curtain Review Summary
The S4B is Banner's recommended starting point for safety light curtains. It is Type 4, the highest category, with 14 mm resolution for finger detection or 30 mm for hands. An illuminated end cap shows status from every direction, with zone and weak-beam indicators to help alignment. Diagnostics go further than usual: IO-Link logs the last ten faults and reports blocked beams. Pairs of different lengths cascade automatically, reduced resolution can ignore one beam, and connections are standard M12.
