Harmonic Drive RSF

Harmonic Drive RSF

Harmonic Drive RSF solid-shaft servo actuators combine a brushless motor, reduction gear and incremental feedback. The standard RSF, RSF-Mini and RSF-Supermini ranges cover distinctly different sizes and operating points; they should be selected as specific actuator configurations with a compatible external servo drive.

Review Summary

RSF is useful when a motor-and-gear assembly with a supported output shaft fits the machine better than independently assembled motion components. The central selection task is choosing the correct range and ratio. Rated torque, continuous limits, momentary peaks and output-equivalent encoder counts must stay attached to their exact model.

Standard RSFSizes 17A, 20A, 25A and 32A; ratios 50:1 and 100:1
Standard RSF rated-torque examplesRSF-17A ratio 50:9.8 Nm; ratio 100:20 Nm. RSF-32A ratio 50:49 Nm; ratio 100:98 Nm
Standard RSF momentary-peak examplesRSF-17A ratio 50:34 Nm; RSF-32A ratio 100:330 Nm; not continuous ratings
RSF-MiniSizes 8B, 11B and 14B; ratios 30:1, 50:1 and 100:1;24V drive arrangements
RSF-14B ratio 100 example6 Nm maximum continuous torque;28 Nm maximum torque;60 rpm maximum speed
RSF-SuperminiSizes 3C and 5B; ratios 30:1, 50:1 and 100:1
RSF-5B ratio 100 example0.44 Nm rated torque at 45 rpm;1.4 Nm maximum torque
Feedback and brake scopeIncremental feedback; optional brake listed for Supermini 5B; exact ordering code governs
Drive boundaryExternal compatible drive required; RSF-5B IDT is a separate integrated-drive product
