Review Summary
Firefly S merits evaluation when an embedded device or compact fixture needs a supported USB image source. The mechanical envelope can help product design, but the final optics, host and protection arrangement determine useful performance. Select the complete code and demonstrate the actual inspection method before relying on a low-power or compactness headline.
Integration and Selection
The selector pairs different sensor groups with different capture rates. A 1.6 MP image and a roughly 120 fps headline do not describe one universal camera. Match the USB controller, cabling, selected output and processing workload. Test triggering and diagnostic behavior at the required cadence with the final device electronics.
