Chromasens chromaPIXA Overview

chromaPIXA is a CCD color line-scan family with calibrated color-space output. Its value is a reproducible inline color measurement recipe, with optics, illumination and scanning geometry included. Select the exact line width and documented receiving mode.

Review Summary
chromaPIXA merits evaluation when a moving surface must be assessed by a color-based criterion and a calibrated line-scan arrangement fits the machine. Outputting a named color space simplifies some analysis, but it does not establish a universal color-measurement accuracy. Define the material, lighting and tolerance before choosing a model.
Integration and Selection
Line frequency must be paired with sensor width and Camera Link mode. The current 7.3K model page lists 29 kHz, while the older family datasheet gives 29.7 kHz. Use the current confirmed operating point in the quotation rather than silently combining those figures. Establish encoder or trigger synchronization and validate the complete scan through the receiver and host analysis.
