Sanctuary AI Hydraulic Hand
The Sanctuary AI hydraulic hand is a human-scale robotic hand with 17 degrees of freedom, hydraulic actuation, integrated tactile sensing and Sanctuary's Physical AI control, intended for industrial robot arms and humanoids and entering pilot programs.
Sanctuary uses hydraulics to fit strong grip and fine control into a human-scale hand with 17 degrees of freedom. Hydraulics hold static loads with little energy and heat, and safety comes from low operating pressure, minimal fluid volume and automatic fault protection. Integrated tactile sensing supports touch-driven tasks, and demonstrations show zero-shot reinforcement learning transfer and low-latency teleoperation, including on a Universal Robots arm. The hand is still in development and entering pilots, and Sanctuary publishes no force, speed, weight or durability figures.
