Ocado Storage Grid
The Ocado storage grid is a modular cubic AS/RS structure up to 21 bins (7.6 m) high, with multi-storey options, plastic or FM Global-accredited metal bins, a -10 to +50 °C operating range, seismic compliance options and assembly in as little as two weeks.
Bins stack inside the grid up to 21 high (7.6 m, needing a 12 m roof), and robots run on top. Heights from 1 to 21 bins are available, grids can span floors with bin lifts, and the modular build fits around pillars and odd walls. Ocado claims 33% more vertical storage per floor than the leading cubic alternative. Plastic or FM Global-accredited metal bins are offered, with Ocado citing up to 99.4% lower fire-loss risk for metal bins. It runs from -10 to +50 °C and has seismic options. Ocado gives the build module both as 2 x 2 cells and as 4 x 4 squares.
