Ocado Storage Bins

Ocado storage bins come in polypropylene and galvanized steel safety versions that fit the same robots, with internal dimensions of 606 x 406 x 344 mm (plastic) or 609 x 409 x 358 mm (metal), loads of 30.6 or 29.3 kg including bin, 21-high stacking and 10 or 20 year design life.
Both bin types share the same footprint, so they can be mixed in one grid. Plastic bins weigh 4.4 kg, carry 30.6 kg including the bin and are designed for 10 years; galvanized steel safety bins weigh 5.7 kg, carry 29.3 kg and are designed for 20 years, with slightly more internal volume. Metal bins were tested by FM Global for fire risk, and the execution software keeps them arranged as firebreaks. Bins stack up to 21 high, can hold multiple SKUs and are individually traceable. No numeric fire rating is given.
