Ocado Robotic Sort Putwall
The Ocado Robotic Sort Putwall uses a robotic arm with a suction-and-finger gripper to sort polybagged apparel and accessories up to 5 lb into 26 cubbies at up to 400 units per hour, reading UPC, LPN and RFID tags.
A robotic arm picks each item, lifts it to find its barcode and places it in the right cubby of a 26-cubby putwall, from which associates pack orders. It handles polybagged apparel and accessories up to 5 lb, reads UPC, LPN and RFID, and sorts up to 400 units per hour per station, letting each associate handle up to 650 units per hour. The standard gripper combines suction and actuating fingers. The unit stands 7.5 ft tall, 11.5 ft wide and weighs about 1,500 lb, and needs compressed air at 100 to 150 psi.
