Kardex AutoStore System
The Kardex AutoStore system is a cubic AS/RS in which robots dig bins from stacks up to 26 levels high, with about 34,000 bins in a typical system, up to 32 compartments per bin, CarouselPort workstations and Kardex FulfillX warehouse execution software.
AutoStore stores bins in dense stacks: up to 26 levels with 220 mm bins, 18 with 330 mm or 14 with 425 mm. Robots on top dig to the target bin, communicate wirelessly, self-diagnose and recharge themselves, and ports such as the CarouselPort present bins to operators. A typical system holds about 34,000 bins, each with up to 32 compartments, and ESD-safe bins are available. Kardex claims up to 400% more storage in existing space, 99.8% system uptime and up to 20% fewer robots with FulfillX. No picks-per-hour figure is given.
