Festo EXCM handling system
The Festo EXCM is a planar surface gantry that moves a slide in the XY plane with a toothed belt driven by two fixed stepper motors with optical encoders. The EXCM-30 covers strokes up to 700 mm by 510 mm with a repetition accuracy of ±0.05 mm, and the EXCM-40 covers up to 2000 mm by 1000 mm with a rated load of 4 kg and ±0.1 mm. It is designed for compact handling and positioning tasks where a flat, space-saving XY system is needed. The EXCM-30 weighs 1.73 kg at zero stroke and has IP20 protection, while the EXCM-40 weighs 16.7 kg and has IP40 protection. The motors are position-controlled, and a brake is optional.
