EFFECTO QuickSTOP Collision Sensor
EFFECTO QuickSTOP is a range of pneumatic robot collision sensors in 11 sizes, from QS-7 to QS-7500, with air-adjustable trip points, ±0.013 to ±0.038 mm repeatability and response times of 2 to 18 ms.
QuickSTOP protects tools and machines in a crash. Regulated air holds the sensor rigid; on impact the seal opens, the tool deflects and the controller gets a signal within 2 to 18 ms. Because the trip point depends on air pressure, it can be adjusted in operation. Eleven sizes run from the 0.11 kg QS-7 for tiny tools to the 16.8 kg QS-7500 that trips at up to 1,049 Nm of moment. It reseats with ±0.013 to ±0.038 mm repeatability, and metal-to-metal seals need no maintenance.
