Dematic Multishuttle
The Dematic Multishuttle is a shuttle-based automated storage and retrieval system with fixed-body, adaptive and belted shuttle types.
Multishuttle is one of the most widely installed shuttle systems. Its principle is to separate vertical movement, done by lifts, from horizontal movement, done by a shuttle on every level, which Dematic says gives up to ten times the throughput of other automated systems. Three shuttle types cover different loads: a fixed-body shuttle for uniform totes, an adaptive shuttle that adjusts to cartons of varying size, and a belted shuttle for replenishment and transfer. Dematic also states up to four times the storage in the same footprint and up to five times the productivity when paired with goods-to-person stations.
