Cyberdyne Medical HAL Single Joint
The Cyberdyne Medical HAL Single Joint Type is a wearable robot of about 1.5 kg for therapy of a single joint, the elbow or knee, with about 120 minutes of battery operation.
The single-joint HAL applies the same principle as the full exoskeleton to one joint. It weighs about 1.5 kg without its controller and battery and assists flexion and extension over 0 to 120 degrees, following the wearer's bio-electrical signals. The basic package serves the elbow and knee; attachments add the ankle and shoulder. It runs about 120 minutes per battery. It is CE marked under the Medical Device Directive and registered with the US FDA as a Class I device. It is used under professional supervision.
