The Addverb Medius is a multi-level shuttle for automated tote storage with a payload of 30 kg, a speed of up to 3.1 m/s and access to seven storage levels per aisle.
An ordinary tote shuttle serves one level, so a tall store needs one vehicle per level. Medius carries a mast 3.8 m high and serves seven levels from one track, which cuts the number of vehicles for stores that need density more than speed. It moves at 3.1 m/s with 30 kg, stores double-deep to 20 m and reaches a stated 36 totes per square metre. Throughput is modest, 103 totes per hour on a 30 m track, so it suits slow and medium movers.
