Piab Uni-Clamp and Uni-Grip EOAT Components Review: Specs, Price and Applications

EOAT clamp component category illustration

Piab Uni-Grip is a universal EOAT system for building precise gripper tools with greater assembly flexibility, while Uni-Clamp components mount into the extruded nut channels of different profile brands and sizes. Together they form the WSL and KPL gripper component lines.

Cross connectors and gripper mounting clamps are channel-nut free and fasten with what Piab calls the first expanding channel mount, so components can be centre-mounted without disassembly or drop-in nuts, and existing in-house profiles can be reused.

Quick Verdict

A time-saving connector system that removes the classic frustration of sliding T-nuts into profiles and works across profile brands.

Design and Operating Principle

Conventional profile EOAT requires T-nuts to be slid in from the profile end, so adding a component in the middle often means taking the frame apart. Expanding channel hooks grip the slot from the front, so parts can be added or moved anywhere.

Because the hooks expand to fit different slot sizes, the same components work on many profile brands, letting tool builders reuse existing stock.

Faster assembly and adjustment shortens tool build and changeover.

Integration and Selection

Use Uni-Grip connectors to join profiles and Uni-Clamp mounts to attach grippers and cups. Verify fit with the slot size of the profiles in use.

Plan frame layouts to exploit centre mounting.
