Design and Operating Principle

Large-area grippers use a foam pad with many holes over a vacuum chamber. The foam seals around products of different shapes, while valves or calibrated orifices in each hole limit leakage where no product is present.

This allows one gripper to pick single items, rows or full layers of different sizes without reconfiguration, which is attractive in palletizing and depalletizing.

Within Piab's range, Kenos models span the compact MiniGrip, modular FlexiGrip and lightweight Safe&Light, each reviewed separately on All Things Cobots.
