The Piab Kenos FlexiGrip (KFG) is a compact, modular foam vacuum gripper whose foam surface adapts to a wide range of products without adjustment. It can be used alone on robots or cobots or combined into EOAT for industrial robots.

Three technologies are offered: check valve (auto-regulated, dust tolerant, up to 80° rotation), flow restriction (up to 360° rotation, light and fast) and a bag gripper unit for soft, liquid or loosely filled bags and pouches. Sizes are round 80 and 100 mm and square 80 and 120 mm.

Quick Verdict

A versatile foam gripper module that reduces mispicks on uneven products and lets one tool design adapt through technology choice.

Design and Operating Principle

Foam conforms to rough, textured and uneven surfaces where cups cannot seal. With check valves, holes not covered by product close automatically, so vacuum is held on the covered area only.

Flow-restriction versions use calibrated orifices that limit leakage, which keeps the gripper thin and light for high-speed picking and allows full rotation.

The bag version adds a frame to support soft or liquid-filled bags and avoid perforation or leakage. Foam is easy to replace, reducing downtime.

Integration and Selection

Pick technology by product: check valve for layers and dusty environments, flow restriction for fast single picks, bag gripper for pouches. Choose vacuum source to balance weight and capacity.

A remote pump reduces arm load and wear.
