Güdel ZP 2-Axis Gantry Review: Specs and Uses of the Two-Axis Linear Gantry
Updated: 7 days ago

The Güdel ZP is a two-axis linear gantry that moves loads along a beam and vertically. The manufacturer does not publish a price. This review covers its specifications, features and uses.
Quick Verdict
The ZP is the classic loading gantry: a carriage travels along one beam and a vertical axis lowers the gripper into the machine. Six sizes cover a wide span, from the ZP-2 at up to 500 N to the ZP-7 at up to 31,250 N. Each has three tunings; the ZP-4 and ZP-6, for example, reach 200 m/min horizontally in the high-dynamic one. Repeatability is ±0.02 mm on all sizes. Payload falls with vertical strokes beyond 1.0 to 1.6 m. One figure in the maker's ZP-3 table appears twice and may be a misprint, so the data sheet should be checked.
