ANYbotics – Autonomous Oil & Gas Facility Inspection Program
Company:
ANYbotics
Start Date:
2022
Category:
Industrial Inspection
Project Description:
ANYbotics deployed autonomous quadruped inspection robots at an oil and gas processing facility to conduct regular data capture rounds that previously required human inspectors in hazardous zones. The robots carry payloads including thermal cameras, acoustic leak detectors, visual cameras, gas sensors, and vibration measurement tools. Autonomous navigation software enables the robots to follow pre-defined inspection routes across stairs, grated walkways, rough terrain, and outdoor surfaces in all weather. Detected anomalies such as hot spots, acoustic leaks, or abnormal vibration are automatically flagged in a digital inspection management platform and compared to historical baseline data. The program replaced approximately 40% of routine manual inspection rounds, reducing human exposure to hazardous environments and enabling higher inspection frequency. Data collected is used by maintenance teams to schedule predictive rather than reactive maintenance actions.
